Ingredients Breakdown 

Gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a naturally occurring amino acid that works as a neurotransmitter in your brain. When GABA attaches to a protein in your brain known as a GABA receptor, it produces a calming effect. This can help with feelings of anxiety and stress and help to decrease the amount of time it takes to fall asleep. 

L-Tyrosine is a natural form non essential amino acid formed from phenylalanine, that helps to replenish norepinephrine and is used to produce epinephrine and dopamine two brain chemicals that influence mood and reduce stress.

Ashwagandha - Ashwagandha has long been touted as the holy grail when it comes to improving sleep, managing stress and reducing anxiety and we know what we’ll be taking to help us through these most unfamiliar of times. Ashwagandha provides a range of sleep benefits and stress benefits, and - when taken consistently - can help you to mitigate anxiety and feel more balanced as you go about your daily life.

Passion Flower Extract - Early studies suggest it might help relieve insomnia and anxiety. It appears to boost the level of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in your brain. This compound lowers brain activity, which may help you relax and sleep better.

L-Theanine has the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier, where it acts as a non-sedative relaxing agent. Specifically, L-Theanine works to block the binding of L-Glutamic Acid to Glutamate receptors in the brain, which results in the release of specific neurotransmitters that work to reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.

Macuna Puriens L-Dopa is an important amino acid in our body. It is needed for the brain to produce dopamine and has many brain-related functions such as mood, motivation, memory, and sleep regulation. 

5-HTP is the immediate precursor to serotonin, which can be converted into the hormone melatonin. Research has found that combining 5-HTP and GABA reduced time to fall asleep, increased the duration of sleep and improved quality of sleep.

L-Tryptophan - All humans unknowingly experience the effects of tryptophan on a daily basis. That’s because tryptophan is responsible for the production of niacin, melatonin, and serotonin. Melatonin is key for regulating healthy sleep-wake cycles, and serotonin plays a role in both sleep and mood regulation.
